Arts Avenue for Kids dance classes are designed to help the children develop excellence in dance while giving honor to God! Students will be trained in dance techniques, which will give them the benefit of high self-esteem, poise and physical well-being. Our focus will be on learning the technical side of dance incorporated with worship and honoring God. 

   Our dance class sessions meet once a week from September to May then close with all of the classes putting on a recital for family and friends!

   Arts Avenue for Kids is not affiliated with a church body. Everyone is welcome! We would love for your child to join us on a journey of learning the arts. In everything we do, we will strive to give honor to God!

Listed below is a description of each class. 


Dance Class Descriptions for 2008-2009

Ballet/Tap Combo (ages 3-4 and 5-7)
Our Combo Dance classes are a combination of Ballet and Tap which will teach students the basics of rhythm, movement and coordination. All of these skills will help develop grace, poise, and strength. Students will have a great time dancing to children’s, classical and Christian music! 

Ballet 1 (ages 8-10) and Ballet 2 (ages 11-14)
Our ballet classes will help students continue to develop a strong foundation in the art of Ballet.  They will work on flexibility, strength, poise, and will continue to learn positions, leaps, etc.  Students will dance to both Christian and classical music.


Dance Schedule and Locations

Classes begin the week of September 8th and go through the first part of May.  The final recital date is Monday, May 11th.  There will be no classes the week of Thanksgiving or Spring Break.  We also will take two weeks off at Christmas and New Years.

Mondays
4:00-4:45 p.m. - Combo Session 1 (ages 3-4)
4:45-5:45 p.m. - Combo Session 2 (ages 5-7) (full - no longer taking registrations)
5:45-6:45 p.m. - Ballet 1 (ages 8-10)
6:45-7:45 p.m. - Ballet 2 (ages 11-14)

All dance classes will take place at our Georgetown location.

Dance Class Fees for 2007-2008

There is a $35.00 registration fee due with registration.

Combo 1 - $35.00/month
Combo 2, Ballet 1 and Ballet 2 - $45.00/month

Monthly payments are due on the 1st class session of each month from September to May. 

There will be a $25.00 deposit due by November 1st for dance costumes. The remaining balance will be due in January. The dance costumes will be yours to keep!

Multiple-Child Discount
After the first child, each additional child in the family will receive $50.00 off the class fee - this includes both theater and dance classes.  (Example - If you sign up one child in dance and one in theater you would simply send in the $35.00 registration fee for the dancer and would not need to pay the 1st installment for the theater student.  If you enroll 2 dancers you would only send in one registration fee and then would take $15.00 off the first month.)

Multiple-Class Discount
 If you would like to sign your child up for more than one class (including theater and dance) you will receive $50.00 off each additional class.



ART Program

    Arts Avenue for Kids is excited to be offering art classes this semester! Each class will combine learning artistic techniques with finding the creativity that God placed within each of us and seeing art and the world as He created it. Classes will focus on drawing and painting and will be offered for students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Kindergarten through 4th grade students will meet for one hour and 5th grade on up will meet for 1 ½ hours. Classes begin the week of February 2nd.  All students will have some of their artwork displayed at our spring dance recital and theater performance which is on Monday, May 11th.

Art Class Descriptions

    All art classes will use pastels, pencil, graphite, watercolor, acrylics and polymer clay. Students will be taught about color theory, perspective, shadow and light, and positive and negative space. The main focus of each class is on drawing and painting skills and will be age appropriate.

Art 1 (Kindergarten - 1st grade)
Art 2 (2nd - 4th grade)

Art 4 (9th - 12th grade)

Art Class Fees

Art 1 and 2 - $210.00
Art 3 and 4 - $250.00

Payments can be made in full with registration or in five installments. The first installment is due with registration and the remaining four installments are due on the first class session of each month (February through May). If paying by installments all classes need to pay $50.00 with registration. The monthly installment would then be $40/month for Art 1 and 2 and $50/month for Art 3 and 4.  The class fee includes all art supplies and materials.
